Ellen Henne Goodale Alaskan Landscape Painting
Ellen Henne Goodale (American, 1915-1991). Original oil on canvas landscape painting depicting an Alaskan mountain range, ca. 1964. Signed along the lower right. Inscribed in pencil by the artist along the stretcher along the verso, "To Anne - Happy Birthday! 9/26/64" and signed by the artist.
Sight; height: 16 in x width: 20 in. Framed; height: 24 1/2 in x width: 28 1/2 in.
Condition: The painting is in fair condition with no visible tears or creases, or major losses. The surface is stable, and the color is bold and bright. Along the upper margin, there is a paint loss against the frame; please see the listing image. There is a gap between the frame and the canvas along the upper margin. There is a scratch along the left margin, measuring 1 1/4 in. No visible sign of restoration. Verso is clean; a few stretcher keys are missing. The canvas is loosely framed. Wear to the frame; there is an approx. 2 inch crack to the lower center. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
