Karel Liebscher (Czech, 1851-1906). Oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a fortified city on a hill. Possibly depicting Mikulov in Moravia, Czech Republic. Signed along the lower right.
Unframed; height: 12 1/2 in x width: 17 in. Framed; height: 16 in x width: 20 1/4 in.
Condition: The colors are bold and bright and the surface is stable. Some light craquelure throughout. Wear, evidence of rubbing, and possible paint loss along the extreme edges, possibly from a previous frame. A layer of varnish makes discerning possible restorations difficult. Light wear to the frame.
