4 Pencil Illustrations by Jacynth Parsons 1929
Jacynth Parsons (English, 1911-1992). Group of four graphite on paper illustrations on two sheets depicting anthropomorphic animals, 1929. Each sheet with an illustration in the upper and lower half for a total of four separate scenes. One sheet with an initial and date in the lower margin of the drawings.
One sheet with a scene depicting woodland critters bidding good luck to a bunny rabbit bride as well as a scene of an additional rabbit, possibly the groom, readying himself before the ceremony.
The other sheet depicting a rabbit in a top hat left alone to his drinks, sitting on a toadstool, while the bridal party departs in the distance. The lower half of the sheet with a young girl holding a jump rope looking forlornly at a flower.
(Smaller) sight; height: 12 in x width 9 in. Matted; 16 in x 14 in. (Larger) height: 13 1/2 in x width: 9 in. Matted; 16 in x 14 in.
Condition: No tears, creases, or losses. Both sheets are laid down to the matboards and the versos cannot be inspected. The sheets are toned, more so along the edges. Areas of discoloration to both sheets. The works are not framed.
