Japanese Scroll Painting of Okame Mask - Japanese scroll painting. The top half with text, possibly poetry, and the lower half depicting an Okame mask. Seals in the lower left corner. Huaxin; height: 53 in x width: 27 in. Scroll; height: 79 in x width: 34 in. Condition: The sheet is toned. There are no major losses to the painting. Light soiling and foxing, particularly along the lower third of the painting. There are several deep horizontal creases throughout and undulation consistent with being rolled. Wear to the silk backing including two areas of soiling along the lower edge, an area of large chips or small losses along the upper left edge that measures approximately four inches by one inch, and two large horizontal tears on the left and right sides where the silk scroll meets the hanging bar.
