Etching depicting three men flirting with a woman in a restaurant. Plate from ”The Dance of Life, A Poem” by William Combe, published ca. 1817. Bernard Picart (French, 1673-1733). Etching titled ”L'Examen du Levain &c, ” ca. 1725. Depicting a Passover custom of the mother placing pieces of unleavened bread for her family to discover and dispose. Provenance: From the Collection of Lynne Rossetto Kasper. (Sight) height ranges from 4 in to 6 3/4 in; width ranges from 3 in to 8 3/4 in. (Framed) height ranges from 10 1/4 in to 12 1/4 in; width ranges from 9 1/4 in to 13 3/4 in; depth: 1 1/4 in. Condition: There are no visible tears or restorations. The smallest etching has been trimmed. There is soiling to the colored etching throughout. Framed under glass; light wear to the frames. Not inspected out of frames.
