Mary GrandPre ”Vegetables go to Bed” Illustration - Mary GrandPre (American, b. 1954). Pastel drawing depicting a child and a cat running through vegetation. An illustration for the children's book ”The Vegetables go to Bed” by Christopher King (1994). Mary GrandPre was born in South Dakota and graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1981. She is perhaps best known for her work on the Harry Potter series, illustrating all seven of the U.S. editions of the series. (Sheet) height: 13 1/4 in x width: 16 in. (Matted) height: 15 in x width: 21 in. Condition: The colors are bold and bright. The sheet is toned. There are no tears or losses to the sheet. Some pastel transfer along the margins and the verso, likely original to the artistic process. The work is affixed to a carboard mat along the upper edge. There is some residual tape along the lower edge. The work is not framed.
