4 Robert Rose-Bear Pipestone Carvings - Robert Rose-Bear (Red Lake Band of Ojibwe, 1947-2006). Group of four pipestone carvings including one pipe in the form of a stag, two walnuts, and one acorn. Loan: Minneapolis Institute of Art, L.82.103.44-46, 1982. Exhibition: Minneapolis Institute of Art, MAEP Exhibition, ”Eight Native Minnesota Artists, ” June 4 - July 25, 1982. Provenance: From the Distinguished Personal Collection of Dr. Robert Jacobsen. (Pipe) Height: 3 in x width: 32 3/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. (Nuts, each) height: 1 1/8 in x diameter: 1 in. Condition: There are no major breaks, losses, or signs of restoration to the pipe or walnut carvings. There are some small chips to the wooden length of the pipe, and mouthpiece. Some small holes, possibly from insect exposure, to the single feather.
