Set of Charlie's Cafe Exceptionale Restaurant Ware - Large group of restaurant ware China dishes and glasses from Charlie's Cafe Exceptionale, located in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1933-1982. Each plate with ribbon motif and restaurant logo. Also including several Charlie's ephemera including menus and a collectible coin. The Charlie Awards, otherwise known as ”The Charlies, ” are named after the restaurant. To this day, it is an annual event in the Twin Cities that celebrate the exceptional contributions of the restaurant, food, and beverage industry, recognizing excellence in various categories Height ranges from 1 in to 6 1/2 in; width ranges from 3 in to 10 in; depth ranges from 3 in to 16 in. Condition: Light accretions throughout, consistent with age and use. To most of the pieces, there are no major losses or signs of restoration. There is a loss measuring approximately one inch by two inches along the rim of one of the largest serving platters; there is also a vertical crack stemming from this loss to the footrim. There is a vertical crack along one of the small, oblong serving dishes. Light to some wear to the footrims throughout.
