Jeff Spangler ”Frog on Bamboo” Jade Ojime - Jeff Spangler (American, b. 1948). Carved California nephrite jade ojime titled ”Frog on Bamboo, ” with layered enamel eyes. As commented on by Spangler: ”This is a Japanese flying frog that lives in the bamboo jungle. Made of California nephrite jade that 'honeys' when held to the light - natural inclusion. The full-round eyes, ear/nose spots, mouth and bamboo detail are in 12 layers of fired enamel.” Provenance: Purchased from Michael Spindel, Ltd., September 1, 1993.
