Ohara Koson ”2 Herons in the Rain” Woodblock - Ohara Koson (Japanese, 1877-1945). Woodblock print on paper titled ”Two Herons in the Rain, ” ca. 1910. Signature along the lower left. Provenance: From the Collection of Ellen and Frederick Wells. Height: 14 1/4 in x width: 7 1/2 in. Condition: The colors are bold and deep. The sheet is lightly toned. It appears that the right and lower margin has been trimmed. There is a minute speck of foxing along the upper right quadrant. There is a small penciled inscription along the lower edge of the verso. There are two residual pieces of framer's tape affixed to the upper edge of the verso. The work is not framed.
