Kunisada ”Kakyodai shobu katabira” Diptych - Utagawa Kunisada/Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865). Woodblock print on paper diptych depicting a scene from the kabuki play ”Kakyodai shobu katabira” or ”Kukyodai ayame katabira” put on by the Nakamura-za in 1815. The left sheet depicting Nakamura Daikichi I as Komume. Two prints from a triptych, lacking one sheet. Each, height: 14 3/8 in x width: 9 3/8 in. Condition: The sheets are possibly trimmed and toned. Light soiling and minute losses. Some areas with residual scraps of paper along the verso. Horizontal crease through the center of each print. The works are not framed.
