Trade Silver George Washington Medallion - A Revolutionary War era trade silver medallion engraved with an image of George Washington and symbols of the Continental Navy, including an anchor, a drum, four flags, a Star-Spangled shield, and a sailor with a sword dressed in late 18th- to early 19th-century clothing. It was possibly presented to a Native American in recognition of his service during the Revolutionary War or the War of 1812. The medallion is strung with 19th-century Russian blue glass beads, along with a mix of white, clear, aqua, and amber beads - types that were commonly traded by Russian explorers to Native Americans in Alaska and Canada.
