Grp 9 Rare 1892-1894 Morgan Silver Dollars - Group of nine low-mint year Morgan silver dollars from 1892-1894 including: one 1892-P, one 1892-O, one 1892-S, one 1892-CC, one 1893-P, one 1893-CC, one 1893-O, one 1894-O, and one 1894-S. Morgan silver dollars from 1892 to 1894 are notable for their unusually low mintages, especially when compared to the large production numbers of earlier and later years in the series. This decline was largely due to waning demand for silver dollars in general, both for circulation and reserve storage, following the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1893, which had mandated large-scale silver purchases by the U.S. Treasury. The coins available in this lot come from the following mintages: 1892-P (1,036,000), 1892-O (2,744,000), 1892-S (1,200,000), 1892-CC (1,352,000), 1893-P (389,000), 1893-CC (677,000), 1893-O (300,000), 1894-O (1,723,000), and 1894-S (1,260,000).
