Style of Geefs ”Louise-Marie” Marble Bust - Style of Guillaume (Willem) Geefs (Belgian, 1805-1883). Marble bust depicting a solemn woman, her hair arranged in neat curls, resembling Louise-Marie of Orleans (1812-1850), Queen of the Belgians from 1832-1850. Height: 21 1/2 in x width: 16 in x depth: 7 in. Weight: 60 lbs 9 oz. Condition: There are no major losses to most of the bust. There are a few chips and a small loss to the lower edge of the woman's ruffled blouse. The stone is slightly toned. Light wear along the extreme edges including a few small chips along the corners of the base. Light dust along the recessed areas. Some wear including scuffs to the underside.
