Jean-Baptiste Debay ”Le Genie de la Chasse” Bronze - Jean-Baptiste-Joseph Debay II (French, 1802-1862). Patinated bronze sculpture titled ”Le Genie de la Chasse (The Genius of Hunting)” depicting a male figure and canine pursuing a deer, ca. 1855. Cast by the Susse Freres foundry. Incised ”J. Debay” with foundry mark along the base. Height: 17 in x width: 19 in x depth: 14 1/2 in. Weight: 54 lbs 3 oz. Condition: There are no dents, losses, or signs of repair. Dust gathered in the recessed areas. A few scattered areas of light verdigris patination, mainly along the head of the stag.
