Bela Markup Bronze ”Bear & Trainer” Sculpture 1904 - Bela Markup (Hungarian, 1873-1945). 19th c. patinated bronze animalier sculpture titled ”Bear and Trainer” depicting a trainer kneeling before a bear, waving a tambourine and prodding the creature with a rod, 1904. Incised signature and date along the base. Height: 17 in x width: 18 in x depth: 11 in. Weight: 48 lbs 1 oz. Condition: There are no major dents or losses. Some patination throughout. Some dust/debris gathered in the recessed areas.
