Ferdinand Barbedienne ”Euterpe” Bronze Sculpture - Ferdinand Barbedienne (French, 1810-1892) and Achille Collas (French, 1795-1859). Patinated bronze sculpture of Euterpe. Signed ”F. Barbedienne Fondeur” and with mechanical reduction stamp by Achille Collas along the base. Euterpe is one of the nine Greek muses, mainly presiding over music. Her name means ”rejoicing one.” Height: 17 1/2 in x width: 8 1/2 in x depth: 5 1/2 in. Weight: 17 lbs 11 oz. Condition: There are no breaks, dents or scratches, losses, or signs of restoration. Light patination throughout. Light dust gathered along the recessed areas. Affixed to a marble base; light wear to the base. Felt affixed to the underside of the base.
