Barton Lidice Benes ”Cricket (Blue)” Mixed Media - Barton Lidice Benes (American, 1942-2012). Mixed media artwork titled ”Cricket (Blue), ” 1986. Depicting a cricket bat hitting a ball. Pencil signed along the lower left; dated along the lower right. The work is made of shredded and torn currency. Height: 32 in x width: 24 1/2 in x depth: 3 in. Condition: Due to the nature of the work, it is difficult to discern whether it has been compromised; however, there are no major tears, losses, or signs of restoration. Light wear along the deckled edges. Floated in frame atop Arches paper. Housed within a plexiglass frame. Some wear to the frame including a crack to the extreme lower edge of the plexiglass. Not inspected out of frame.
