Chinese Huanghuali Yokeback Chair w/ Burlwood Seat - Chinese carved huanghuali ”official's hat” or yoke back armchair with inset burlwood seat. The gently contoured s-form center splat depicting a stylized taotie mask, rising to a curved crest rail flanked by rounded arms. The legs joined by four linear stretchers. Height: 39 in x width: 23 1/2 in x depth: 17 3/4 in. Condition: The chair is sturdy and stable. There are no breaks or losses. Splits forming in the top of the backsplat and the top bar of the backrest. Some light separation between joints. A few light scuffs and accretions throughout. Rubber feet affixed to the underside of the feet.
