20th c. Chinese Portrait of Court Family - 20th century Chinese ink on silk portrait painting of a court family. Inkstamped ”Made in China” along the verso along with illegible pencil inscriptions. Huaxin; height: 18 1/4 in x width: 29 in. Scroll; height: 20 1/2 in x width: 38 in. Condition: There is undulation to the work; some creasing due to being rolled. There is a large repaired tear running from below the rightmost figure upwards to the center of the painting and then straight downwards to the edge, creating a triangle-shaped rip. Another repaired H-shaped rip along the right black pole in the painting. Some soiling to the silk margins. Areas of brittleness to the silk backing, especially near the far edges.
