George III Sterling Zodiac Snuff Box - 2.25 ozt - English George III sterling silver double-lidded snuff box, early 19th century. Of curved oblong form with incised geometric motifs surrounding cartouches with zodiac forms. The interior with gilt wash. Marked ”W.K” with pictorial anchor cartouche, indicating manufacture by Wardell & Kempson in Birmingham. With date letter ”k, ” dating the piece to 1808. Height: 1 in x width: 3 in x depth: 1 1/4 in. Gross weight: 2.250 Troy oz. Condition: Tarnishing, some fading to the motifs, a few small nicks. Gilt wash interior in good condition. Hinges working well.
