5 Coin & 950 Silver Tea Vessels - 1,555.3 g - Five piece E. Stubbins & Co. teaset and one French Touron 950 Silver hot chocolate pot. Including a George III style rectangular tea caddy, a creamer, compote or sugar bowl, lidded sugar bowl, and teapot all of the same patter. The sugar bowl, compote, and teapot marked ”E. Stubbins & Co.” along the underside, this company produced coin silver hollowware. These pieces, excluding the tea caddy monogrammed ”G.L.” in reference to the prominent de Grasse and Livingston families. Notable members include: Comte de Grasse, the prominent French admiral who commanded the French fleet during the decisive Battle of Yorktown in the American Revolution. Caroline de Grasse de Pau, Henry Walter Livingston (1798–1848) an American of a prominent New York family who married Caroline de Grasse de Pau (daughter Francis De Pau and Sylvie de Grasse, granddaughter of the Comte de Grasse). One 950 silver hot chocolate pot with hoofed feet and wooden handle. Marked ”Touron” along the underside with French Minerva in clipped corners for 950. The chocolate pot bearing the crest of the Livingston family, a prominent and influential founding New York family. Height ranges from 3 3/4 in to 7 in; width ranges from 2 1/2 in to 8 in; depth ranges from 1 1/2 in to 4 1/4 in. Condition: There are no major breaks, dents, or losses. The hinges work well on the teapot and chocolate pot. Light tarnishing along the recessed areas.
