Darlene Lind Aleutian Beaded Women's Cap - Darlene Lind (Alaskan (Alutiiq - Aleut), b. 1942). Intricate beaded helmet or cap comprised of leather strung with glass beads in red, blue, and white. The beads of varying styles, including small seed shapes, faceted, and opaque cylindrical forms. Surmounted by a brown fur along the apex of the head. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. Height: 21 in x diameter: 7 in. Condition: Light wear. There are some accretions, matting to the fur, and wear to the strands along the back panel of beads.
