2 Inuit Cribbage Boards - Group of two Inuit carved organic material cribbage boards. One with black incised work depicting fish, seals and scale motifs. Unsigned, without pegs. One with carving of a polar bear's face and open maw. Unsigned, without pegs. Provenance: Purchased from a Private Minnesota Collection, 1987; Private Collection. (Larger) Height: 1 in x width: 7 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. (Smaller) Height: 3/4 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/4 in. Condition: Light wear and toning to the organic material, as expected with age. There are some breaks and losses to the teeth and pigment along the polar bear's mouth of the larger cribbage board. Both boards lacking the gaming pegs.
