4 Inuit Seals & Polar Bear Carvings - Group of four Inuit carvings, including: One small seal carved from fossilized organic material, Chukchi, 1960s. One small seal carved from organic material, signed indistinctly for Felicite Kuwianartok Kaunak (Inuit (Naujaat - Repulse Bay), b. 1924). One carved stone seal, signed in syllabics for Aoudla Pudlat (Inuit (Kinngait - Cape Dorset), 1951-2006). One carved organic material swimming polar bear by Andrew Mamgark (Inuit (Arviat), 1930-1997). In two pieces. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. Length ranges from 3 in to 4 1/2 in. Condition: Polar bear's head separated from its body, potentially the artist's original intent. Surface wear to all sculptures, the fossilized piece missing pigment in one eye.
