Mark Tungilik Angel Carving - Mark Tungilik (Inuit (Naujaat - Repulse Bay), 1913-1986). Carving in organic material of angel in a long robe holding a trumpet. Mounted to a small rock base. Signed in syllabics along the bottom. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. Height: 3 1/2 in x width: 3 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. Condition: Accretions to the base, where the angel connects to the stone. There appears to be previous repair or reenforcement to the base of the wings.
