San Ildefonso Polychrome Pottery Olla ca. 1900 - Southwestern Native American San Ildefonso Pueblo three-color pottery olla or water pot vessel, ca. 1900. Of a wide and rounded body, tapering toward a recessed neck. Depicting a band of repeating floral or flame-like motifs encircling the shoulder; the main field featuring bold, sinuous elements adorned by triangular forms and curling tendrils that extend laterally across the vessel’s surface. Provenance: By repute, Ex. Adobe Gallery, Santa Fe; Private Minnesota Collection. Height: 10 1/2 in x diameter: 12 in. Condition: Wear throughout commensurate with age. There are no large cracks or signs of repair. Crazing to the pigment with some minute areas of flaking throughout, especially along the shoulder. There are some fleabite to small-sized chips along the rim and footim. Some wear to the underside.
