AMACO Artclay Matte Green Flared Trumpet Vase - AMACO (American Art Clay Company), United States. Early 20th century American art pottery trumpet vase with matte green ”curdled” glaze, ca. 1930s. Of shapely form, similar to archaic Chinese ”gu” vessels, with flared rim rising from the bulbous central lobe of the vase. Ink-stamped ”American Art Clay Company” and indistinctly incised along the underside. Height: 9 1/2 in x diameter: 5 1/2 in. Condition: There are no cracks or losses. There are signs of restoration to the upper flared section of the vase. Light crazing to the glaze. Light wear to the footrim.
