Pr American Terra Cotta Pottery Gargoyle Bookends - American Terra Cotta & Ceramic Company, Illinois, United States. Pair of art pottery ceramic bookends in the form of gargoyles, apes, or monkeys. One was executed in an orange or coral glaze; the other in a cream glaze. The orange figurine with an impressed stamp mark along the underside. (Each) height: 7 in x width: 3 in x depth: 4 3/4 in. Condition: To the lighter monkey there is crazing to the glaze throughout; large glazing flaws along the interior body of the monkey where the glaze did not cover the pottery. Discolorations to the glaze in recessed areas. To the darker monkey there are a few areas of glazing flaws near the monkey's knees. One small chip to a corner, mostly to the glaze.
