Weller Art Pottery Matte ”Selma” Vase ca. 1910 - Weller Pottery, Zanesville, Ohio. Art Pottery ”Selma” pattern, shape no. 411 vase, ca. 1910. Depicting a lively assemblage of squirrels, birds, and owls perched on branches amid oak leaves. Earthenware with matte green, brown, and additional glazes. Similar in style to vases designed in the ”Knifewood” or ”Woodcraft” pattern styles. Impressed ”Weller” along the underside. Reference: Sharon & Bob Huxford, ”The Collectors Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery, ” Collector Books: Kentucky, 1987, pp. 199, 368. Height: 9 in x diameter: 4 1/4 in. Condition: There are no major breaks or losses. There are several areas along the rim and center of the vase that fluoresce under UV light, possibly restorations. Light crazing throughout.
