Weller Art Pottery Matte ”Knifewood” Vase ca. 1910 - Weller Pottery, Zanesville, Ohio. Art Pottery ”Knifewood” pattern vase, ca. 1920s. Depicting a lively assemblage of squirrels, birds, and owls perched on branches amid oak leaves. Earthenware with matte green, brown, and additional glazes. Similar in design to vases of the ”Selma” or ”Woodcraft” pattern styles. Impressed ”Weller” along the underside. Weller Pottery's ”Knifewood” line was introduced ca. 1920 and designed by Rudolph Lorber (Austrian, 1873-1952). Condition: There are no major breaks or losses to most of the vase. There is a chip along the footrim. Light crazing throughout.
