Chinese Tang Dynasty Terracotta Prancing Horse - Chinese Tang dynasty terracotta pottery figure of a horse, ca. 618-907 CE. The equestrian form depicted posed on strong legs with curved neck arching downwards, the right hoof raised in a prancing motion. Exceptionally well designed model, representing the spirit of Tang dynasty artistry. Height: 14 1/2 in x width: 12 in x depth: 5 1/2 in. Condition: Trace amounts of pigment remain along the hooves. There are some small hairline cracks radiating from a small loss along the rear right haunch. There is a narrow hairline crack forming along the base. Some debris gathered along the interior, commensurate with age.
