Chinese Wei Dynasty Pottery Mingqi Tomb Figure - Chinese Northern Wei dynasty pottery mingqi (tomb figure), ca. 4th century CE. Molded earthenware with pigment. Depicting a standing attendant or court lady dressed in elegantly drapes robes with her right arm raised to her chest. Provenance: E & J Frankel, Ltd., New York, October 2, 1986; Private Minnesota Collection. Height: 6 3/4 in x width: 2 in x depth: 1 in. Condition: Wear throughout commensurate with age and material. There is a repaired break along the center of the figure. Heavy wear and fading to the pigment throughout. Some chips along the extreme edges.
