Set 102 pcs Chinese ”Melon” Porcelain Dishes - Large 102-piece set of Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain ”melon” dishes. Including: three serving bowls, eight soup bowls, nine salad bowls, seven dessert bowls, two serving plates, four dessert plates, ten lunch plates, seven smaller plates, seven teacup saucers, ten small bowls, nine demitasse saucers, nine soup spoons, seven tea bowls, and ten sauce dishes. Each decorated with a vining melon and bamboo motif, accented by floral forms and butterflies. The bamboo symbolizes integrity, flexibility, and strength, while fruits often represent fertility or the ”Three Abundances.” Each vessel with an exceptionally precise six-character blue underglaze ”Guangxu” reign mark along the underside; each spoon with a six character iron red mark along the underside. (Spoons, each) Length: 5 3/4 in x width: 2 1/4 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: To many of the pieces, there are fleabite to moderate-sized chips along the rims and footrims. To several of the pieces, there are hairline cracks along the rims. To one of the salad bowls, there is a repaired break and small loss along the rim; the break has been repaired with staples along the exterior of the bowl. There is wear to the gilt and glaze, including large losses to the gilt along the rim. Light surface wear.
