4 Chinese Qing & 18th c. English Porcelain Teapots - Group of four teapots. Including: One Chinese famille rose porcelain teapot of hexagonal form, Qing dynasty. With an iron red six-character Daoguang mark and partial wax export seal along the underside. One Chinese famille rose porcelain teapot depicting foliate motifs on orange ground, Qing dynasty. With an iron red four-character Tongzhi mark and wax export seal along the underside. With a residual paper label affixed above the footrim. One Chinese porcelain teapot of hexagonal form depicting foliate motifs. With an illegible character mark in iron red along the underside. Attributed to Thomas Harley (English, 18th century). One English earthenware teapot of octagonal form depicting figural motifs, 18th century. Height ranges from 5 in to 6 in; width ranges from 4 1/2 in to 9 1/4 in; diameter ranges from 4 1/4 in to 4 1/2 in. Condition: To the hexagonal teapot with foliate motifs, there are two repaired breaks along the lid; one break corresponds to a small loss along the rim. There is a small loss along the finial atop the lid. Along the lower rim of the lid, there are two small chips. There are fleabite chips along the spout. To the teapot body, there are no cracks or signs of restoration. Small chips along the feet. There is . The lid is affixed atop the inserted portion of the teapot. To the hexagonal teapot with figural motifs, along the rims of the inner teapot, there are a few small possible chips or rounded firing flaws. There is a partial residual label along one side of the teapot. To the orange hexagonal teapot, there is a repaired break to the lid. There is a fleabite chip along the rim of the lid and a small loss along the body of the lid. To the outer hexagonal portion of the teapot, there is a vertical hairline crack along one of the side panels; the crack extends downward from the rim approximately 3 3/4 inches. There is a small loss along the inner rim of the hexagonal pot; additional fleabite chips along the rim, noticeable upon close inspection. There is a loss to one of the metal handle elements. To the English teapot, there is a small loss and a few fleabite chips along the rim. There are fleabite to small-sized chips to the pointed elements along the rim, along the spout, and along the footrim. To each of the teapots, there are rounded and linear firing flaws. To the metal elements, there are scattered areas of tarnishing, oxidation, and verdigris patination. Crazing to the glaze.
