Pr Chinese Giltwood Lotus Altar Emblem Stands - Pair of Chinese Buddhist carved and gilt-lacquered wooden temple pillar altar pieces or emblem stands, Qing dynasty. Surmounted by lotus-shaped crown composed of five layered tiers of petals and finely carved interlacing scrolls. Resting on five stout feet. (Each) height: 21 1/2 in x width: 9 in x depth: 8 in. Condition: Wear commeensurate with age including some losses to the gilt, areas of flaking to the lacquer, and moderately sized chips or small losses along high points. To one carving, one of the lower protruding elements is lose. The carvings have been drilled as lamps.
