Chinese Glazed Ceramic Bodhisattva Buddha Head - Chinese ceramic buddha or bodhisattva head. Stoneware glazed with varying shades of turquoise blue and deep yellow, resembling examples of sancai pottery. Height: 12 1/2 in x width: 7 1/2 in x depth: 6 in. Condition: There are no significant losses. There is a small chip to the glaze along the lower lobe of the right ear and along the center of the back of the head. There is a crack running vertically throughout the center sides of the apex of the bun, possibly original to the artistic process, as it is glazed over. Crazing throughout; minute chip to the glaze along the front of the bun. Wear along the footrim and base of the neck. Dust and debris gathered along the interior.
