Chinese Hardwood & Dreamstone Marble Low Table - Chinese hardwood k'ang or low table with dreamstone marble slab, 20th century. The marble slab with natural striations resembling a mountainous landscape beneath clouds, inset within the table frame depicting faux bamboo stalks. The skirt carved in the form of fruiting vines and scrolling foliate motifs. Height: 11 in x width: 30 in x depth: 17 3/4 in. Condition: There are fleabite chips along the extreme edges of the marble. Light scratches and accretions along the marble surface. Some separation to the joints. There is a horizontal loss to one of the reticulated elements. There is a crack along one of the reticulated elements that extends upwards towards the extreme top edge of the table. Possible signs of restoration to the carved elements, particularly where the reticulated skirt meets the legs of the table. Some scuffs and scratches, particularly to the legs and feet.
