Chinese Qing Jade Dragon Belt Buckle - Chinese Qing dynasty pierced jade belt buckle depicting an old and young dragon. The motif suggests the phrase ”canglong jiaozi” conveying the wish for an official position to pass from one generation to the next. For an emperor it would have conveyed the wish that the crown prince would follow in his footsteps. Length: 4 in x width: 1 in x depth: 3/4 in. Weight: 58.5 g. Condition: There are chips and possible losses along the extreme edge of one side of the buckle; there are two metal pins with areas of calcification along the verso for the larger dragon's head. Light dust gathered along the recessed areas.
