Meissen Porcelain Cream Pot ca. 1728 - Meissen, Germany. Porcelain cream pot painted in the manner of J.G. Herold with Chinoiseries figures, ca. 1728. Scroll handle and beak spout raised on three paw feet. Blue crossed swords mark and gilt ”H.” gilder mark. Provenance: Christie's, London, ”Important Continental Ceramics, ” December 3, 1984, Lot 268; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 4 1/4 in x width: 6 1/2 in x diameter: 4 1/2 in. Condition: There is a small hairline crack along the rim. Along the interior of the spout, there are two small, linear firing flaws. There are losses to the gilt. There are a few fleabite chips along the interior rim, noticeable upon touch. Some wear to the feet, including small chips.
