Meissen Tischchenmuster Teapot ca. 1735 - Meissen, Germany. Porcelain pear-shaped teapot and cover ca. 1735. Painted with Tischchenmuster ”little table” pattern of a table amongst sprays of Indianische Blumen; the lid with flowers and a trellis pattern band. Scroll spout with mask head terminal. Blue crossed swords, K for Kretzschmar mark, and incised Dreher's marks. Provenance: Christie's, London, ”The Nyffeler Collection of German Porcelain, ” June 9, 1986, Lot 161; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 6 1/2 in x width: 7 in x diameter: 4 1/2 in. Condition: There is a small chip along the tip of the spout. Some wear to the gilt and pigment throughout, including small losses to the gilt along the finial, lower third of the lid, as well as the gilt-contoured underglaze blue decoration along the pot. Light wear to the footrim. There is some residual clear tape alone the top of the lid.
