Meissen Alt-Ozier Kakiemon Plate ca. 1740 - Meissen, Germany. Porcelain Kakiemon style molded plate molded in the Alt-Ozier pattern, ca. 1740. Painted with a tiger prowling around a stand of bamboo with pine and prunus issuing from rockwork at the right. Blue crossed swords along the back. Provenance: Sotheby's, London, October 9, 1984, Lot 206; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Diameter: 9 in. Condition: There are no large cracks. There is a small chip along the rim, beneath the tiger. Some wear to the pigment, including small losses to the paint along the nape of the tiger's neck as well as to the floral sprays along the lower right quadrant of the plate. Light wear to the gilt along the extreme edge.
