Worcester ”Dragon in Compartment” Armorial Saucer - Chamberlain's Worcester, England. ”Dragon in Compartment” pattern no. 75 porcelain saucer decorated in the center with an armorial crest of a battlement surmounted by a goat head with a red and white striped bar below, ca. 1795. The pattern also known as ”Kylin” or ”Bengal Tiger.” Pattern number inscribed in iron red along the underside of the plate. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Diameter: 6 1/2 in. Condition: There are no cracks or signs of repair. Minute to small losses to the gilt and glaze, particularly along the rim. Possible signs of restoration to the gilt; a few minute areas appear slightly toned. Fleabite to small-sized chips along the footrim. There are scattered rounded and linear firing flaws; along the underside, there is a moderate, linear firing flaw. Surface wear.
