Meissen Model of Parrot ca. Late 19th c. - Meissen, Germany. Porcelain model of a colorful parrot, ca. late 19th century. Blue crossed swords mark along the underside. Modelled perched atop a tree stump. Provenance: Philip Suval, Inc., New York, NY, September 14, 1976; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 12 1/4 in x width: 5 1/2 in x depth: 4 in. Condition: There are signs of restoration throughout the parrot's wings, legs, and talons that fluoresce under UV light. There are breaks and losses to the applied foliate elements along the extreme edges of the branches, as well as along the base. Light wear to the underside.
