German Porcelain Model of Parrot - A German model of a vibrant parrot, late 19th century. Probably Saxe. Naturalistically modelled perched on a tree-stump. Painted red with green and blue tipped wings. Marked along the underside. Provenance: Christie's, New York, NY, ”European Porcelain and Pottery, ” November 29, 1979, Lot 22; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 10 1/2 in x width: 4 in x depth: 7 in. Condition: There are no chips or losses. Light wear to the gilt and pigment. Some wear to the base, including a few hairline cracks. There is a firing flaw near the base of the parrot's body where it joins the tail.
