Pair Bow Bird Figural Groups ca. 1765 - Bow, England. Pair of porcelain figural groups of birds, ca. 1765. Each modelled as three finches perched at the terminal of three branches. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) Height: 4 in x width: 4 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: To each of the figurines, there are restorations to the foliate elements, particularly to the branches. To each, the right branch has been restored and there are restorations to the areas along the branches where the birds are seated. To one to one of the figurines, the tails of the left and right birds have been restored. To the other figurine, there are two repaired cracks along the right branch: one along the center of the branch, and the other below the bird. The beaks of the right and center birds, and the tail of the right bird have been restored. To each, there are small to large losses to the applied foliate elements. There are small chips to a few of the birds' beaks and tails. Light wear to the glaze, including small losses, particularly along the birds' heads. A few small chips along the undersides.
