4 English Cat Figurines ca. 1800-1815 - Group of four English porcelain cat figurines with puce, yellow, and black markings similar to calico cats. Including: A Staffordshire group of a cat and kitten on an oblong white base, ca. 1810. A Worcester group of a cat and kitten on a blue base, ca. 1815. A Worcester model of a cat seated on a maroon pillow, ca. 1800. English model of a seated cat on a white mound, ca. 1810 Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height ranges from 2 in to 3 in; width ranges from 1 1/4 in to 2 3/4 in; depth ranges from 1 1/4 in to 1 3/4 in. Condition: To the cat/kitten on a white mound: Wear to the pigment along the apex of the ears and the gilt trim along the base. There is a round firing flaw along the lower left corner of the base. Likely some small repairs to the ears and muzzles of the cats; these areas fluoresce under UV light. To the singular cat on a white mound: There are no large breaks. Some wear to the gilt along the base and minute areas of flaking to the pigment along the back of the cat. Light wear to the base. To the singular cat on a maroon pillow: There are no obvious breaks, cracks, or signs of repairs. There may be a small hairline along the tail that was painted over with magenta to match the base. Some wear to the gilt and the pigment, particularly along the base. To the cat/kitten on a blue mound: There are no large breaks, cracks, or repairs. Some wear to the gilt and pigment, particularly along the trim of the base.
