4 19th c. Figurines of Cats & Owl - Group of four 19th century porcelain figurines of cats and an owl including: A Derby model of a seated cat with black and white markings on a green pillow base, ca. 1800. A Derby model of a recumbent cat on a pink base, ca. 1810. An English pottery group of three kittens playing on a deep rose-colored base, ca. 1820. A German model of an owl, ca. 1850. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height ranges from 1 1/4 in to 2 1/2 in; width ranges from 1 in to 3 3/4 in; depth ranges from 3/4 in to 1 3/4 in. Condition: To the cat on a green pillow: All paws, both ears, and the tail have been repaired. It is likely that the cat has been reattached to the base. Fleabite chips to the ears. Some wear to the gilt and pigment throughout, particularly along the collar and the extreme edges of the base. To the owl: There are no chips, cracks, or losses. Very light wear to the underside. To the cat on a pink pillow: There is a loss to the left ear and chips to the the right ear. Light wear to the gilt and pigment, particularly along the trim of the base. To the group of three cats on a red base: There are no large breaks to the central cat or signs of restoration. To the right cat, there is a loss to the tail; there is a repair to the front raised leg There are light and minute fleabite chips along the highpoints of the kittens' ears and paws, noticeable upon touch. Some flaking and losses to the pigment, particularly along the ball of the leftmost kitten. Light wear to the base. Two felt tabs affixed to the underside.
