Continental Commedia Dell'Arte Figure - Continental porcelain Commedia Dell'Arte figure, ca. mid-19th century The figure in purple holding a black mask and wearing a dagger. Similar to a Samson figure of Richard III in the collection of the V&A (AN: S.954-1996). With an imitation Frankenthal mark. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 5 3/4 in x width: 2 3/4 in x depth: 2 1/2 in. Condition: There is a small loss to the plume in the top of the figure's hat. Along the base, there is a small chip that has been painted over. Light wear to the gilt and pigment. Some wear to the underside, including fleabite chips noticeable upon touch.
