Derby Porcelain Figure of Juno ca. 1765 - Derby, England. A porcelain figure of Juno, ca. 1765. With a crowned head and long pink cloak, a peacock at her side, all standing on a rococo scroll plinth base. Patch marks to the underside. Provenance: Christie's, New York, NY, ”The Christner Collection Volume IV - Important Continental and English Ceramics, ” November 30, 1979, Lot 41; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 8 in x width: 4 in x depth: 3 3/4 in. Condition: Large areas of restoration throughout. The upper half of the figure and the upper half of the fowl have been repaired. Further repairs to the back of the draping of the figure. Areas of these repairs are flaking, especially to the woman's clavicle and the breast of the fowl. There are minute to small-sized chips along extreme edges of the figure's veil and cape. There are two hairline cracks along the fowl's right leg; one hairline crack along the upper third of the leg that does not extend throughout the leg, and a second hairline crack below the angled joint the extends through the leg. Light wear to the gilt along the extreme edges of the base.
